INTERMEDIATE COURSE

The main purpose of the intermediate course is to prepare the low experience pilots for active flying and safe discovery of new horizons in paragliding.
HOW IT GOES?The course consists of 30 solo flights and 6 theory lessons. Under radio supervision you will learn basic techniques of active flying, improve your skills and provide you with the necessary experience for further independent and safe flying. Intermediate course is also preparation for final exam to get the PILOT LICENCE.

PRACTISE:
  • Planning: Insight, evaluation of site and conditions, decisions, giving a flight plan.
  • Pre-flight routines: spreading, adjustment, pre-flight checks.
  • Speed control manoeuvres
  • Turns: 90 - 180, gentle to medium bank, left and right, co-ordinated, without any sign of stall.
  • 360 degree turns: Ordinary speed and on minimum sink, right and left, shallow to medium bank, without any sign of stalls. (Safe height and distance to terrain.)
  • Ground reference manoeuvres : Figure 8-turns and rectangular patterns, correcting for wind-drift.
  • Traffic rules : Manoeuvring according to other traffic.
  • Landing patterns : Following planned procedure.
  • Precision approaches and landings : Safe and standing inside an area pre-set by the instructor.
  • Turning and landing only by the use of the rear risers : Simulation of brake-line failure.
  • Asymetrical colapses
  • Big ears
  • Performing spirals as a quick descent technique.
After the completion of the course you can fly independently from different flying sites and conditions but it's always better to look for advice from local and experienced pilots.
