As is usual for the late autumn and winter, me and friends in the 90-ties of the previous century went for some flying to the south Slovenia. The flying was not so big a challenge anymore, so we invented contest with the term "Winter League".
The first Winter League took place in the 97/98 season, there has been a T-shirt (check picture), which was then pressed for the first participants. At that time for the holidays around the All Saint we explored new starts, we called this Para-safari or Para-Istra. On Buzet, we also made some internal competition.
This is a brief outline of my memory at that time, which is maintained after that.
I am pleased that the Winter League competition, sometimes almost illegal event, but has always had a big heart, has become an important, and recognized as an official event for all who wish to temper the winter.
Winter League also helps to increase flight safety in early spring, since participants would help to maintain a competitive pace through dead season. At the Winter League we can be proud, there is not manny places around with such a climate!
